Space Koi #2

This photo is second in a series of koi fish floating in a large pond at night during the rain. I wanted to achieve the effect of fish floating in space that evolved out of the debri falling into the pond. I accentuated the effect of the colors to give this abstact a sense of intergalatic space. I imagined I saw the Eagle Nebula in dark blue, a favorite target for astronomers. This photos are taken from orbiting and earth based observatories. The koi are connected to each other, one an extension of the other as they appear in an unknown galaxy.

fantastic!! love the contrasts of the green and red against the dark blue. great movement again!

Artist Reply: Thanks Nelly. As far as I know these koi are the first to travel in intergalactic space rather than be confined to a pond. Since they have special radar to track them, the space program feels encouraged that they might find life on other planets. Given their fluid movement, elegance coupled with the fact that Koi have no teeth, they were chosen as one of the most non aggressive species on our planet. Advances in technology have given scientists the opportunity to equip this evolved species with many tanks of oxygen to explore other solar systems. I have written stories about Ged who is looking for the lost princess who was captured from the protective shelter of her castle by alien beings. Hopefully these beautiful fish may provide us with clues about her location. The green fish is electrifying and if you look closely, he has a very intense and focused look. Gazing at the stars and looking at these graceful, sentient and vividly colored beings is so serene.
