DEAD SEA SCROLLS.. personal journal ink-sketches

These are only two of the pages from my personal journal / chronicle, pertaining to the Israel Dead Sea Scroll exhibits. I was priveleged enough to spend ample research time in The Bowers Cultural rooms in January of 2002, sketching various genuine archaeological historical objects (under strict international security) including: The Qumran scrolls of Psalms, War scrolls, The House of David (Tel Dan) inscription stone from various angles, and several bronze sceptres... It was fascinating* This year, the journaling continues, with studies in the San Diego Natural History Museum where 27 scrolls (10 never seen before) are on scientific display. (June 29-December 31, 2007) All of my sketches are produced in black ball-point ink pen and an occasional highlighter or accent marker. HR
