Nice image, but to me, who have studied icons, it seems a little strange. Perhaps because in icons you hardly ever have the Mother and Child locked in each-other's gaze. One of them would always be looking at the viewer or at least 'outside' the image. Also, theologically 'Mother of Christ' is not a very correct title, as it harks back to the time where I believe a whole Ecumenical Council was called largely over the use of this title ( en.wikipedia.org /wiki/ Theotokos), ideed on the image it states 'Mitera Theu', 'Mother of God, either side of her head. It is also unusual for me to see such an image painted in oil, though you managed to keep it from feeling too 'heavy'. Sorry if this is too 'nitpicky', but I could not help commenting on seeing it.
