Guernica Tribute

Inspired by Picasso's Guernica. Formed from sheet aluminum, hammered, bent, torn, riveted and spray painted. It was created for an intense 3 dimensional media course, with Hale Anderson, at the University of Northern Iowa in 1983. We were instructed to only bend and cut the metal. I couldn't resist hammering some of the pieces into 3 hands and a face. I had a sense that the arrangement was right when I started laughing.
