Kari

This image was done in pencil, pen and ink. You may know Kari. I met him here one early early 3:00am or thereabouts, one morning in late 2005. He was criticizing one of my scribble drawings. He said he thought it was not my best work. Imagine that! Well okay, I said, but why are you picking on me this early in the morning? Turns out, he lives in Finland, so our times are much different. Off and on we have been in contact these past two years. Mostly because I got worried about him when I read the bio he posted. His art was mostly dark at that time. I was concerned. He wrote and assured me he was fine, not to worry at all, and the reasons that I shouldn't, really touched me. Well, there's, another friend I have met here that compelled me to try to help. Stupid me, I need help myself.:)) I told him I was sorry, but it must be the mother in me. This is Kari K. Kari knows about this , because I ask him if I could do it.

can't decide which I like the best, both are remarkable in their own right

Artist Reply: John, it took me a while to figure out what I wanted to do with Kari's portrait. I knew I had to do something different, but I wanted to do it with pencil. I was surprised at how many other artists looked at it, but I think the fact that it was Kari had a lot to do with it. :-)) Thanks for your super comment!
