you would have loved him

This one to me is amongst the ones that I find quite compelling. It's a shame that I am getting to view this after the artist has joined his Maker. I would have loved to have had some interaction with him about some of his paintings which have made a huge impact on me. In short, the burnt out candle to me represents his pain ravaged and beaten up body. The flame to me is his soul which is eternal. The faceless bodies to me represent one of these 2 meanings. My first interpretation of them is that they stand for the people who touch our lives and leave their mark, however in the end we leave them all behind. Faceless, nameless, ours yet not ours. We finish our duty and our time with them on earth and then we part ways. My second interpretation is that these could be God's messengers waiting around and biding their time, until the body finishes its karma on earth , so that they can gather the brightly lit flame (the soul) back to it's original Maker; Where it belongs....With God.
