I might agree with Tom if he had said to use "more paint" as more of a tool to direct the viewers attention and only then because I'm a fan of strong contrast but in this instance your subject, technique, and tones hold my attention very well, haha I keep looking back even as I type this, excellent work Patrick I love it.

Full of soft lines and thick atmosphere. The painting creates such warmth and tenderness that you want to hold it to you closely. -Markus

nice, but as the closeup shows: need more paint.

Artist Reply: Thanks for your comment Tom, but please explain what you mean by "need more paint". In the hair...the highlits Are paint and sometimes the artist will allow the underpainting to show through to give the impression of highlights or mid tones. Look at David Leffel, Ramon Kelley, Howard Terpnings works for this very classic and traditional technique. As in all paintings...they are studies and all are to learn from so, I will take your remarks to heart and be more observent in my next piece. Thanks again.

Great lighting and colors!

Artist Reply: Thank you Jerry, She ws, indeed, a pleasure to paint. Wanted a more broken up background, against her soft skin. It was a great play of warm tones in the shadows and cools in the highlights.

Artist Reply: Thanks John. Scanned it in at 600dpi so it could be enlarged by the printer for large format size. Yes...quite detailed. Thanks.
