When was the last time you spent a quiet moment just doing nothing - just sitting and looking at the sea, or watching the wind blowing the tree limbs, or waves rippling on a pond, a flickering candle or children playing in the park? Very Very Good Hassan. Feelings of old and new, of youth and age, of now and then, of solitude and company of dreams and wishes. Composition is clear with clear thoughts.jamie winter 11 Apr 2007

Lovely, both of them, Hassan. There's unity and variety in the second one; theres a feeling that it works as a whole and is complete. Repetition of color and shape can unify a painting/picture, weaving it together like a puzzle. Having all the shapes the same size would give unity, but it would not have given a great variety. (The 3 different sized circles -including the shadow-are great!) The proportion of the elements makes it work. FIRST ONE: Using all neutrals in this picture gives you UNITY. SECOND PICTURE: This type of color scheme has great appeal. You choose for two total opposite colors (blue and red). That changed the whole picture! That added the variety! This second picture has calm and expansive areas to give the viewer a place for the eyes to rest. WELL DONE MY FRIEND! I'm teaching this subject unity and variety this Monday @ the Academy. I think I'll use your pictures as an example! Is that OK with you Hassan? Happy Easter!!--Jerie kunitsky 05 Apr 2007
