I love this Cathy...I have several very old images similar to this from Germany
Artist Reply: Thank you Delia, would love to see your images, and where they come from, very interested in tracing the paths of the Celts, who migrated to Germany in 400 to 200BC.
Artist Reply: Thank you Joke, working on a design of St. Hilda at the moment along with everything else, she was another significant Celtic Saint especially for' Whitby ,East yorkshire,Uk. I am sure you will like her when she's finished!
Great image. such detail. I paint Retablos on rusted tin. I have to find the pics of my old work and post them. Julia Roberts has a lot of my work... one of my better clients...
Artist Reply: Thanks Kat, would love to see your images!

Artist Reply: Hi there Matthew, this feels weird, thank you for your comments, you could have been named after the Saint Matthew, are you good with money? Have you asked your Grandpa?
Thanks for explaining "Kells" in the note to S.Love below... I did not know what it referred to either. This is lovely work and I know it is painstaking, with all the gold and silver leaf.
As a Greek Orthodox Christian I find your iconography absolutely fascinating
Artist Reply: Thank you Stanton, as the Celts made their way accross the continents, they caused a lot of havoc in Greece on their way, and of course learned a lot while they were their, A big influence to the Celtic art form as we know it today!
I love this style very indicative of the early church, beautiful gold trimming really sets this back to that era. Excellent piece. God bless you richly.
