Carved into English walnut. The ancient Celts beleived that the longer and more intricate interlacing of a knotwork was indicative to the longevity of life'Eternity'

This carving bears so uch close study. I'm responding with a lot of emotions studying it..wonder, curiousity...How can something so fierce be balanced so well with beauty? The patterns are engrosing. I love it!

Oh wow! Your work is beautiful! I love celtic patterns and knots, there is something very calming in drawing and carving them...I used to make celtic patterns in stained glass, but I think it works wonderfully in wood!
