Carved into English walnut.
The ancient Celts beleived that the longer and more intricate interlacing of a knotwork was indicative to the longevity of life'Eternity'
This carving bears so uch close study. I'm responding with a lot of emotions studying it..wonder, curiousity...How can something so fierce be balanced so well with beauty? The patterns are engrosing. I love it!
Artist Reply: Sally, great comments, great emotion pick up, it is my desire to do Celtic works that can actually be held and touched, hence the carvings, great you picked it up!
Oh wow! Your work is beautiful! I love celtic patterns and knots, there is something very calming in drawing and carving them...I used to make celtic patterns in stained glass, but I think it works wonderfully in wood!
Artist Reply: Thank you for your feedback Nonny, I really enjoy the carving.
