Lariat

This is Lariat. He was a huge Longhorn steer that had been hand raised to be exhibited at the fair. Very docile and willing to pose to have his picture drawn. As I knelt next to his pen he occasionally let out a huff (thank goodness it was all from the favorable end) to let me know that he was still in charge. His keepers told me that he acted like a big puppy dog, and when the fair was over and the Steer returned to the field, he would cavort like a calf- kicking up his heels and running about. Image is approx. 8x10 inches.

Faith, you are so masterful with the pencil. Great shading and barely discernable hatching. Excellent piece of work. Miguel
