Avec un clin d'oeil amical a Nelly!
This painting shows a fierce sky with an intensity of darks, yet the lush warm hue of the reds and yellow tones seem to warm the painting up, in which the top and bottom balance each other out. (I used at least about 10 different reds!!)
I like the intensity of this dramatic sky, contrasting the low dark horizon with the mysterious silhouettes of the rolling hills of Pennsylvania.
I want the viewer to feel the
power of the setting of the sun below the
rich bright western horizon, and
see the atmospheric glow and
coloring of the evening near the horizon,
as the sun sets, just before the sky will
become dark and the night will begin.
You wish it would be a never ending
beauty...
