Yesterday I taught my second subject at the Academy for Lifelong Learning: abstracts in Nature: STORMY WEATHER. My students are awesome and grabbing the abstracts pretty fast!
"View from our window!"
With this painting I wanted to capture
a gloomy atmosphere, the feeling of
a threatening storm approaching.
I want the viewer to hear the
thunder rumbling and to feel
the sense of a looming
storm.
There is an intensity of darks, blues
and green tones, in which the top and
bottom balance each other out.
I like the intensity of the clouds and
sky, contrasting the low dark
horizon with the rolling hills.
A big "Thank You" to
Han Stuster for his
advise; he is an awesome Dutch abstract painter,
living in Norway with his wife
Mette Brjertingstad
, also an accomplished artist.

Very nice, Olga, and appropriate for me to find it when we are experiencing just that type of weather around here (Michigan) the past weekend. We felt the approaching storm close enough to spend an hour in our basement, until the all clear sounded.Cristina Andrisan 19 May 2008
