ROSITA, MIGUEL AND THE FAERIES IN THE CALLAS

ROSITA, MIGUEL AND THE FAERIES IN THE CALLAS copyright by Miguel Forbus Faeries in the Callas by Miguel Forbus In the middle of the night, I awoke to some sound in the garden I was not used to. A sort of flapping, lightly as a Blue Morpheus flitting about. I left the hammock and walked down the path lined with the most lovely blooms, Rosita and I were both gardeners. She grew the beauty and I grew the food. As I got closer to the Calla garden, a rainbow of colors reflected the Equatorial Moon in it's fulness, hung like a Chinese Gong in the black night. Then I saw them. Tiny specks of blue darting about in the Lillies, streaking this way and that. It seemed so ethereal and lovely as if the Callas were lit by magic and they seemed to tell me to wake my beautiful Rosita. As I slipped into our sleeping room, she stirred and pulled the silky serape over her. She was always so cool in the night and I like a furnace. She clung to me like a fire in the frozen tundra. I gently woke her and holding a finger to her mouth, after my lips, and we glided out to the garden. It was if there were millions of star shaped fireflies blinking in unison. In her eyes were such lovely stars and so enchanting. I wrapped the silk around her shoulders and she leaned into me and our hearts were one. As we gazed at the Callas we saw first one then another, small flying faeries darting about in the lillies amongst the stardust. I told Rosita, I have never seen such a thing and she smiled so deeply my heart pounded like a Conga. She said Miguel, these are special bulbs that the bruja gave me for the safety of our love and it's long life. And now they bloom and we have been washed in the dust of the faeries and the tiny blue stars will always light our way back to each other, no matter how far from each other we are. It was a gift from the heavens for me to give to you. Although I am always so hot like an ember, I shivered. She held me as if I was her child and lover at the same time. She wrapped me in the silky cacoon and whispered something in my ear that I will never forget. It is my wish for all who read this that someone tells them the same thing some time in the life of their love. The blue stardust blinked and seemed to dim and we walked the path of the fragrant flowers back to the hammock. I tried to sleep but could not for an instance. There was an ecstatic indigo blue covering my only love, Rosita and it shimmered and showed it's opulence to me for the rest of the night. It shined on her face and breast as if a reflection of the sea and sky married to each other. I have never forgotten one second of that evening. I believe it is a tattoo on my heart. I only wish that whoever reads this has that kind of love in their life at least once. Written by Miguel Forbus
