The photo was taken on February 10, 2007 at the Sea Turtle Pool of the Underwater Observatory Marine Park, Eilat (Israel). Sea turtles are large and expressive creatures belonging to the family of sea reptiles. There are several species of sea turtles in the Park. Two of them are: the herbivore Green Turtle and the Hawksbill Turtle. The turtle pool is divided in two. One part contains adult turtles, mostly females. A sandy island is build in the center. Here, in breeding season, eggs are laid which will hatch into baby turtles. The other part of the pool is reserves for the young turtles, all born within the park.
