Pregnant Goddess - Edited

Well, unfortunately after the original picture was up for 9 months, it was sadly removed by an AW moderator.

I have lost all of the wonderful comments for this piece and this saddens me. I appreciate everyone who supported my original piece, THANK YOU!!

It is taking all I have, not go on a rant a mile long concerning censorship. Fine, censor and restrain my creativity (at least try), but at least give me a few minutes to fix the situation before you just rip it out of my portfolio. I lost so many page views and comments when I really didnt need to.

It is truly sad that beautiful artwork has to be censored because a small group may be offended. What about the larger group who is offended by the smaller groups need to control and push their beliefs onto others?

Anyway, I guess I just have to let it go, move on, and keep working on my personal website (which will be available very soon!).

My daughter is the creator of all these beautiful pieces. I am equally appalled at the narrow mindedness of an art sight! It never ceases to amaze me that in a country born of the need to express one's self, it only takes one to ruin it for all....very sad indeed.

Artist Reply: Thank you Mom for the support!! What is even sadder is that the people who want the censoring allow their children (or they themselves) to watch todays t.v, which (in some shows/movies) exploits and demeans women & that seems to be ok. They can try and fit me back in the box, but that will NEVER happen! :) At least I now have my own site up and I can post whatever I like and no one can say a word about it. :) So, something good did come of this, it motived me enough to get the site done! I love you!

Just read your story about this picture I can't believe they removed it and your feedback without warning , I would be outraged ! keep up the good work :-)

full of love and softness - wonderful drawing!! thanks for the reload!!! though there might be a censorship, when you show your artworks: never censor yourselve, when you are creating art!

Artist Reply: Thank you for the wonderful and supportive comment. "They" could never get me to censor myself, I am already out of the box and running around crazy. :) It is just sad to me that a nude female figure (or any nude) is considered so taboo even on an art website. If I was promoting sex then I might be able to understand, but I don't. There is beauty in the naked form. I don't censor things like this from my kids because I don't want them growing up think the naked body is bad. We have nothing to be ashamed of as humans, the higher power (by whatever name you call it, if you do) created all of us naked. We come into the world in this fashion. Anyway, thank you so much for your wonderful comments!! Sorry about the soap box. ;)
