This african elephant was drawn in pastel and coloured pencil on black acid-free pastel paper. The photo reference was kindly supplied by Marie Strydom of African Wildlife Photography. I chose to draw the elephant in an evening sunset as I was inspired by a hint of red underneath his belly.
