This one is my favourite of Jack. I've seen him do this pose so many times you captured his energy and personality.

Brilliant work with pastels! I'm in awe. I bought a set about 4 years ago, never opened it. I'm ascared...can't erease! AMAZING work, Maureen!

When i was working at our college I was doing pencil drawings only and the art master there saw one of mine and asked what other mediums I used as he thought some leopards I had done in pencil were excellent. I just told him I couldn't use anything else, just pencil. He replied 'With talent like this, yes! You can use other mediums! Have you tried pastels?'So I did and loved 'em and have been getting better ever since. I say the same thing to you - with talent like you have, you can make the pastels work for you. Open them and have a try, they are messy but you will love the results when you do a portrait and get that wonderful transluscent look on the skin. Please try and I know you will do it!!
