Crossroads

There are always decisions in life that will take us to new places. It doesn't always help if the sign is broken and there's a "little birdie" that seems to be watching over our decision.

I like the texture and the them thats a great idea, there is something however that bothers me. it is your composition....everything lines up directly in the center of the painting I dont know it that was intentional..but you can draw a vertical line down the middle of the painting from the peak of the hill to the road and through the sign...I think that might be working against you im not sure but all the other elements are really well done!

Artist Reply: Thanks for the comment on Crossroads, Pete, and to answer your question, no it wasn't intentional. I tend to discover what I'm painting as I go along, and the road just sort of ended up meeting in the center, before I even knew it was a road. The bird and sign seemed to logically fit in the middle of the crossroads. Usually, I tend to offcenter things, balance vs. offbalance, etc. I see it as being slightly off-centered, but maybe not enough. Any more, and I would feel the need to off-balance, maybe that's what's lacking...?
