Maria Sanchez commissioned me to do this portrait of her Dad, who passed away last year. She is giving it to her mother as a gift, and I hope she likes it. Her Mom did choose the picture, to my surprise. I will admit, that this one was easy.
Ah..ah...AMAZING!! GREAT contrast, values and highlights. Wonderful communication of expression. YOU'RE GIFTED!!!
Artist Reply: Well Janet, not as gifted as you are with words! Love your comments all of the time, but, I have to tell you.....THANK YOU!! I reeally like my new friend, ain't it? It is!!!
Wow,what an amazing portrait!!!I'm sure this will be a real Treasure for Maria's,Mom!!!Sorry to hear about their Great Loss. My Dad died in Jan and this Christmas will be sorrowful,in that I so miss my Dad.
Great Art,my Friend!!!
Artist Reply: Dee, I have such sympathy for you. I do understand how it feels. My dad left here 16 years ago at 65, two days before Christmas, and a huge snow storm!!! So sad, but time heals a bit, as it is said. But, I am happy you think that I will make someone happy!! Thank you!!!!
Carliss, any portrait is easy for you. This one is another very good portrait by you. Bravo!
Artist Reply: Now, Gerald! I wish I really thought that, then sometimes I wouldn't get so frustrated. I like it that other artists tell me I'm getting better. I did ask them to, when I started. Gerald you're very thoughtful, and generous, and I thank you very much!!
What a wonderful gift. I find that these kind of portraits are uplifting for the person who lost their loved ones.
Artist Reply: Yes Penny, I think it helps with the healing process. I know that you have done them. I try to make extra special careful that it gets done right!!! Thanks, to you, as always, my friend!!!
Maria Sanchez mom will be in heaven when she sees this beautiful portrait... You did such a great job, making lots of people happy, dear Carliss! Super job!--
Artist Reply: Olga, thank you! I hope so she paid for this in trade. She makes spinicopitas, an excellent appetizer, and we agreed she'd make lots of these, instead of money! I think I am the lucky one!
