"Oecher Bend 2027" a people celebration of special kind 30 x 80 cm acrylic on canvas 2006 While our "Bend" is "young" still at the west station, its origin rejects some centuries. In the year 1413 the Bend is for the first time mentioned. By "Bend" the Oecher understands two things: first of all a large meadow and secondly the Aachener fair, which owes its name of a large meadow between Hotmannspief and Komphausbad. Into the year 1885 the Aachener Kirmes fair on the Seilgraben, the Bergdriesch and the Pontdriesch took place. Followed the "Panneschopp" at the Stolberger road, followed from the Kappellenplatz in Burtscheid. 1927 finally found the fair its homeland on the "Oecher Bendplatz" at the west station. Twice in the year (spring and summer) the "Oecher Bend" opens on a total area of approx.. 40.000 m² its gates, and as each year hundredthousands become over the rummelplatz to saunter, because thanks of the attractive position developed the Bend in the course of the time to the Kirmesattraktion in three-landhit a corner. Aachen) but... actually I do not like "oecher bend" at all ... however if it 2027 go off like greased lightning in such a way there as in my picture, then I would go nevertheless completely gladly again...
