Beauty of Fungus

I spotted these fungi growing on a fallen pine deep in the forest of Yosemite National Park in California. These were large about 2 feet tall, and about fist size. I think that rot, in nature, can often be beautiful, such as by fungus.

Amazing Terry 2 feet tall I've never seen anything like this before thank you for sharing this photo

Artist Reply: Thanks Zoe! I love finding cool things like this. I had about given up finding fugus in these woods. Not like the woods where I grew up in South East USA. There a short hike in the woods would find you a dozen or more varieties. The woods are not as diverse in trees and plants in this area. Seems the rees are healthier as well.
