General Nathan Forrest

General Nathan Forrest is shown her against the backdrop of a Southern forest. He was a famous Confederate cavalry officer. This portrait was commissioned by a fan of his, Stephen Henthorne. I hope he likes my more modern interpretation.

Hello David! How are you? Love this interesting painting. What a brilliant depiction of General Nathan. He looks so strong and purposeful and somehow vaguely Russian. Love the light on those tree trunks and the details of the buttons on his tunic. Great atmosphere! Another masterpiece from the maestro! Love it!
