Just finished this gorgeous chimp today, using my charcoal pencils for the first time, with a hint of colour in pastel on the leaves! I really enjoyed doing this and photographic reference was used with very kind permission from David Pearce from Primates.com.Joanne:-)

What a sweet and adorable looking chimp! I can see why this little guy inspired you to draw him. I like the realistic look to this, and esp. his gentle and tender expression. Nice touch with the hint of color in the leaves, and I like the strong textures, but it's not so strong that it distracts from the piece. This chimp is so cute, I just want to give him a hug! Excellent charcoal work Joanne - I can see you really put your heart into this!
