This lovely little chalkland flower is now very rare in the UK. It is also known as the Easter Flower as it opens in April/May. It's name is derived from the Greek word 'Paschal' meaning the Passover or Easter time.
Artist Reply: Thank you Analua for your kind comments about my new drawings. The pasqueflower was particularly good to do as I just love the beautiful purple colour and the wonderfully soft downy hairs that cover the stem and leaves. Thanks again Jane
Artist Reply: Thanks again Emily for your comments about my new drawings. I particularly enjoyed doing the pasqueflower as it is such a beautiful little flower and I just love this colour purple! Jane
Beautiful botanical...very well done, Jane! I love the fuzziness... you captured it so well.
Artist Reply: Thank you Arlene for your praise! I just love this little flower and it does have masses of soft white hairs all over. There are loads of garden varieties but I still like this wild one better than any.
