I had been looking at this old oak tree with its overhanging branches, waiting for a day when the light was just right and the water was completely calm and would give a neat reflection. One July morning, I noticed what looked like trash caught up in the branch so I stopped the car to looked more closely, and saw the little green heron with its bright red eye. It wasn't until I pulled up the digital image on the computer that I saw the two little crabs that he was watching intently. Taken June 2006.
