Chicago & Northwestern #1518

Built in 1948 by the Electromotive Division of General Motors, this early Type GP-7 diesel is known as a "Geep". The "GP" actually stands for "general purpose". The Chicago & Northwestern Railroad is dear to my heart because I grew up along her mainline in the suburbs of Chicago before she became part of the Union Pacific Railroad. This unit was the first "Geep" ever produced by EMD.
