The Human Convolution

(30 x 24) Oil, mixed media, and gold leafing. Inside a female silhouette, head in her hands, exists life today as we know it. Adults in high political authority make decisions which effect society as a whole. World events such as war, soldiers, children with guns, 911, death and destruction are only some of the images embodied within this painting. Gold leafing, symbolizing the individuals soul still remains intertwined throughout images of present day disasters within the woman. Human nature, while initially untainted and pure has been altered through the course of ones life, leading to present day events. Contaminated, pain and suffering are a seemingly inevitable course of human nature. Can this cycle be stopped? 3rd painting out of 3.

Great use of collage and painting to tell a strong story of the way that women especially absorb the horrors of war and corrupt power.

Your series speaks volumes, the images reflective of our lives on earth. If only we could retain the innocence of our souls. Wonderful pieces!!! :)

Artist Reply: Thank you Mary! The series of 3 paintings was created in order to convey just that. How people hurt, politically and on a global level. It needs to be stopped.
