Birth

Birth (30 x 24) Acrylic, oil, mixed media, and gold leafing. The bundle of cells has now grown into a fully formed human being. This being is born into the universe, untainted and vulnerable. The being carries within him parts of the universe; in this case, the human figure is composed of broken images of the sun. The individual is filled with gold leafing, representing the soul and its innate sense of purity. Painting 2 out of a series of 3.
