I've been working on business card designs inbetween paintings lately, most of which has just been cut/paste and text on the comp. but goin' back to my roots for this one... in highschool, did almost EVERYthing with ink n colored pencil. this is ink, colored pencil, sharpie, marker, and some collage on paper. hummingbird is from one of my paintings, the buddha image is from a meditation center pamphlet... photo-copied, then colored. pretty sure it's a public domain kinda thing. wanted to do some work in the style of a lot of the current advertising designs. for my first try, and without any digital (other than touch-up), i'm pretty proud of it. 7.5 by 9.5 inches. completed June 18, 2006. copyright, jeff ostrowski. enjoy! and please leave comments!

AVLOKITESWARA One who looks down with compassion. Embodiment of the three jewels, Water, Skies and Earth. Nice mix there. Thanks for giving us a 'non-digital' Buddha :)Angie Waszkiewicz 23 Jun 2006

The first impression of the artwork is stunning. The shades of blue and colors used in the buddha are magnificent. If I look at it from a buddhist perspective, the background clouds and swirls combined with the news print almost indicate the illusion of the world standing behind the buddha. Very creative and flawlessly executed design.Mayme Crouse 19 Jun 2006
