East Scalby, North Yorkshire

Touring the Yorkshire countryside near Scarborough, in search of landscape painting subjects, I came across this view on a bend in the road. With the bright sunlight creating strong highlights and shadows amongst the various subject matter, it was too good a painting challange to resist. All reproduction rights ©2006 Mike Langdale

Nice colors and mood Mike. The shadowy effects are very realistic and your blend of colors is right on target.....sort of makes the eyes dance across the canvas and up that hill in the background.

a perfect landscape... the depth the subtle coloring with wonderful foreground, i especially like th shadows and light of the fence and grazing sheep. BRILLIANT work -- glad you took the challenge.. you know most of all beyond absoulte perfect i simply love the scene as you did!
