Rodger, Gavin's Cat

Here's a handsome cat, by the name of Rodger. I did this from a photo that belongs to Gavin North, another artist on AW. He was kind enough to let me do a painting for him as a gift. Thanks Gavin! If you get a chance check out his work. This was done using the phot as a referrence only. I used a split screen as I painted, using a wacom tablet, and Painter IX software. I used airbrushes, water brushes, and a little pastel to get this look. I used the grainy water to help with the fur in this one,and blending tools. Not for sale.

Lovely soft cat picture, Terrry!

Artist Reply: Thank you! The airbrush, pastels, and some grainy water helped me get the soft look. I used blender tools afterwasrd to make a soft hair look, and to soften tiny fine lines where I needed them softened.

Cats are so intense sometimes - Great One Terry! :0)

Artist Reply: Thank you! My old cat, Spaz is when challenged for for who gets a chair. Lately, he stares tand tries to steal potato chips. He gets the same intensity in his eyes when he hears a chip bag. Tryt to shame me into giving him one by staring and creeping coser to stare.
