Touch Of Love

THis one is a close up of my newborn granddaughter grasping my fingers. Create from blank screen/canvas,using a referernce photo taken by my husband. I used a wacom tablet and Painter Clasic software to do this one. It was the first time I got to touch her, a touch of love.

absolutely beautiful

Artist Reply: Thank you Lyle! Sorry I took so long to reply! I've been girl scout camping with my troop, and recoving from that. This is one of the works I'm most proud of as it reaches out to many. It's the best hands I'll probaly be able to do as well. This one will always tug at my heart reminding me of the moment my grandaughter reached out and grabbed my finger.

very cool

Naomi Santiago de Malave 04 Apr 2007

I will always protect you...that's what I see...beautiful Terry

Artist Reply: Thank you Naomi so much for your comments on my work and e-mails. I am learning more and more each day and hope to create more art that is pleasing to more than myself. Will be off traveling this week and next, so may not be able to post new works. Babies are so trusting and curious, they know if they are loved, and steal one's heart. How can anyone not feel protective towards them, priceless gifts they are all.

you have an amazing talent if this is drawn digitally from nothing! Brilliant work! Lisa x

Artist Reply: Thanks Lisa! I did look at a photo that I had up on the corner of my monitor to reference. I'm one that has to look to get the details right. This took alot of work to get it done, I hate working on hands. Still, it was such a dear moment I wanted to do it as a painting. It was worth the effort I put into it. THis one is a favorite of my works.

Awsome!

Artist Reply: Thank you Roz! This one was such a wonderful moment to be able to share. I can't believe she is already two now. I'll be seeing her tomorrow to spoil.

Pure idea, boldly executed...just lovely!

Artist Reply: Thank you Herman! I seem to do hands well, but struggle more with hair. This one took a lot of layers of colors to build up the skin tones, lines in the hands, nails, etc.

Aaaahhhhhhh........great capture

Artist Reply: Thank you Tazda! My husband took the photo and I loved it. I did the painting with more colore as my skin is so pale. I also left out the dryness of my skin. This was the most I had worked on details to do hands in a painting. It took me a while, but I like the results. Hands are easier for me than eyes and hair.

Fantastic and most lovey picture, Terry!

Artist Reply: Thank you Jerry! It was a tough one to do the hands, but I got it preety good this time. Lots of airbrush layers, and blending.

Kwabena Poku 26 Mar 2006

A very nice composition

Artist Reply: Thank you Kwabena! It was a work that I did out of love. I worked hard on the hands, which are always hard for me to do. Yet, I was determined to do a nice job on them, and the extra work and time made it worth it.

absolutley innocent and filled with love

Artist Reply: Thank you so much! Babbies are so curious! It's lie, I know you! My daughter Nancy would turn towards her father's voice when she was newborn as soon as she heard it, coo, and kick her legs excitively. He used to talk to my tummy all thorough my pregnancy. She's still a Daddy's Girl.

Beautiful heartwarming photo!!!:)

Artist Reply: Thank you! So glad it looks realistic to appear as a photo! When I paint images such as these, it takes a bit of time as compared to some of my other works to get it to look realistic. It took a lot of aribrush layers, highlights, and water brush tool to get the blending to mmake the skin tones come out right. (I didn't do as well as the photo I used as reference, I left out my pale skin, and dried hands. I wanted them to look nicer.) SO glad you liked this one!

Sara Deutsch 25 Mar 2006

How you do this is a mystery to me...I can almost see blood coursing through your fingers!

Artist Reply: Thank you Sara! I used many layers of airbrush colors and water brush blended it, some pastel chalks as well to build up the skin tones. Same for the background colors, just less colors and larger blending areas. I go back at the end to add al the highlights in so that it looks more realistic and blend those in as well. If I didn't blend so much, there would be lots of brush strokes and divided color sections, less natural. I did add more color to my hands, as I'm pale, so that it looked better inthe composition. Thank you for your lovely remarks!

Analua 25 Mar 2006

Marvelous Terry!!!!!!

Artist Reply: Thanks Analua! This one worked well for me!

Lucia Stewart 25 Mar 2006

Awesome and inspiring!

Artist Reply: It was a loving piece to do for me, I wanted to be able to show her one day how much the moment meant to me. It brought back memories of holding my daughter and her doing the same. It's a good universal moment to share.

Nancy Costley 25 Mar 2006

Nice tender moment Terry...Cath xx

Artist Reply: Thank you! I thought this was something that most could relate to, perhaps for some, remind them of when they first held their babies hand.

corry stuart 25 Mar 2006

very touching nice work

Artist Reply: Thank you Corry! It was, she stole my heart, and I don't ever want to have it given back.

Emily Reed 25 Mar 2006

You touch my heart, Terry!

Artist Reply: Thank you Emily! My husband shot the amzing photo I did this from, may post it up soon. He did several wonderful shots that day, and he doesn't ususally take good photos at all. LOL!

Armando Salas 25 Mar 2006

So sweet and tender...! I did a similar image, but yours it's the best.

thea walstra 25 Mar 2006

The most worthy moments of life. Outstanding and heartfelt art.

John Graham Inkson 25 Mar 2006

I like the composition used here.

Artist Reply: Thank you John! The only thing I didn't paint in was my dried, chaffed hands! LOL! I did pump up the colors as well, as I'm so pale, I'm called Casper sometimes. It didn't look right with the pale colors for this composition. Thanks for commenting again on my work!

Christine brand 25 Mar 2006
