quite intriquing, i like that you did her in red tones, it is surprising not being in black and white. She is hard but has a quiet underlying softness to her. Lovely work Jerry.

Rusty Woodward-Gladdish 27 Mar 2006

Hello Jerry! What a wonderful painting. Strong and poetic and deeply religious. (for me). Love the pulsing Crimson! The Virgin in an agony of suffering. The Blood of Christ and the wonder of the Ascension. A brilliant portrait full of meaning and emotion!! Love it!

David Holcombe 27 Mar 2006

This must be some Pieta image. It has the suffering of a mother who does not imagine what will happen next. She is only consumed with her grief. Easter is just around the corner, but you could never tell with all her sadness.

Carl Huffman 27 Mar 2006

You did that with just a ballpoint pen? Wow! I'm really impressed!

John Graham Inkson 26 Mar 2006

Classical, you much have got through some pens on this one.

Jerry, you continue to amaze me...You have accomplished great things with a restricted medium..I wish I had your patience to stick to one area like this...but alas I must venture into new paths..My way is adventurous, and admitidly your way is the path to mastery which you have achieved. Bravo to you for the patience and perseverence to acomplish the task!!!

Artist Reply: Elton, I am certain pleased that you find enjoyment with what a ballpoint pen and I can achieve. Pen and ink has been around for over four thousand years. The Bible, other great books, documents, treaties, reports, plays and many other wonderful things have been completed with a pen and ink not just art works. The works of a pen has elevated mankind. Utilizing what blessings a ballpoint brings simply adds to the countless victories pens have done throughout history. A ballpoint has out sold ALL OTHER ART mediums therefore maybe other mediums are the ones restricted!
