Four hummingbirds

This is a long panel I did of hummingbirds I originally painted as two separate works. It is stitched together and manulated to becoming one smooth blended work. I had been looking at my paintings and thought, those two should be one painting, not two. It took a few minutes of adjusting the hue before stiching and looking at eachone sideby side. I then added a third color to the stiched piece to blend the colors together. They did not have the same background colors before this. I was pleased with this result.

Artist Reply: Thanks Nancy! This was one of my first hummingbird paintings. I will be doing more in these winter months when it's too cold for me to venture out. I take photos for reference during the warmer parts of the year to keep me busy painting in the coldest parts of the year.

Oh so soft and elegante

Artist Reply: Thank you! Got to use all my favorite colors in it! Took some figuring to blend two paintings, to adjust size, tone, and hue, but think it worked out nicely.I get frustrated sometimes trying to learn new software tools, so tend to give up and just paint from scratch. This time I worked at it and figured it out. Looks like it was always 1 painting, which is what I wanted.

Artist Reply: Thanks! I'm facinated with them. There's about 300 species of them in the world, in Arizona we get about 6 species, and two visit my garden. My late mother-in-law had a ting for hummers, and while maing gifts for her or buying them, I got hooksed on their amazing looks & abilities. THey defy the rules of nature and and are flying dancers of air!

Artist Reply: Thanks Thea! They are one bird my dogs are afraid of. They seem to think they are big bees! LOL! I want to fence off a garden area and put in a waterfall. My dogs would be always in th e water, especially the husky. Working on a garden bird sanctuary.
