Linnael practiced her scales under the near-exhausted tutelage of Chirrin. Would this silly girl ever figure out how to sing the flowers gold? wondered the bird, but he said nothing. Linnael was trying so hard, even if she always drifted sharp near the top of her range. Practice, a bit more coaching, and more practice...
