Springer Spaniel, Zak

Phew, finished it in time for Christmas. My last commission of the year, a Springer Spaniel called Zak. coloured pencil on pale grey card 16" x 12". May I take this opportunity to wish everyone here at AW the very best for the festive season and thank everyone who has taken time to comment on my work, I really appreciate it. Oh yeah, and I've bought myself a better camera for Christmas so, who knows, maybe I'll take better pictures. lol

Beautifully executed Ruth , but perhaps a little less shadow and the edge of the grass faded out? Just a suggestion

Artist Reply: yes Corry I think you're right, I don't usually do much with backgrounds, but as his paws were in the grass I had no choice so things weren't quite as I would have liked, but I didn't know where to go. Therefore I am so grateful for your input, thank you.

Love the drawing, great use of colored pencil...I would like to see the back ground worked a little more and shaded lighter as it gets away from the dog...

Artist Reply: thank you Rhonda there was some thing I wasn't quite happy about with this and so you input is greatly appreciated.
