wedding cake

My step-daughter, Shelley's, wedding cake. She said the only wedding present she wanted from me was the cake. No pressure there then! I'd never made a wedding cake in my life, the only fancy cake I'd made before was a hedgehog that was so flat it looked like road-kill! The pedestal separating the top and middle layer was just a wine glass I painted, turned upside-down. The sculpture is by Enesco that I found on Ebay. The rest is all my work. The pattern for the icing is the design that was embroidered on her wedding dress and I added the gold and blue ribbons to match her husband, Ed's, army dress uniform. I was so pleased with the result and it tasted pretty good too, didn't poison anyone!

are you sure you have never decorated a cake before - you must have surprised yourself as this is amazing work. I would have made a squiggly blobby mess:0)
