Complex-Multi-faceted Singer

I'd like to think this technique is new, but I have doubts. Artists are ever trying something new and different, even if they never show it out in public. I love gel pens. I have sets of them. I usually draw with pencil or charcoal, but I thought I'd add a little color to my first art attempt at portraiture of this singer with gel pens. I call the technique Shardstrandism. Predominantly straight, some jagged, lines of colors. No rotten tomatoes please!

It looks like you had fun with this and most the time that sorta fun just leads to good and new creations. Gel pens....I used mine in my hair!!!! Good work here Carliss.

Artist Reply: Now, gel pen in the hair, would really be a fun adventure! Luv your stuff, too, oh kind, but nefarious one! Thank you!

Wow, so interesting. I love gel pens myself. They are great to do line art and fill in with watercolors. They bleed a little, given a mysterious quality. You are right about artists trying different things. I know one artist that painted once with nail polish. LOL!
