George Harrison charcoal WIP

This is not finished, but I am not sure what else I am going to do with it.This is charcoal on bristol, with the blue tint added in photoshop.I got my velour tablet in today so this is getting put aside for awhile,I plan on doing some more pastels work on my velour...anyway comments appreciated, should I add a background to this or leave it be?

This piece is as finished as the Beatles were........left us as a group way too soon and so did two of its members. Missed much. You nailed the likeness, especially the eyes. George always did have "for the ladies" eyes.

Hi Chris. I would "Let It Be." I have a unfinished piece of John Lennon that I never had the heart to finish. Fantastic work my friend.--Denny

Artist Reply: So Denny will we get to see this Lennon? I would love to see what you did there...

Other than the missing tuning pegs,I think it's otherwise perfect just as it is-great portrait, charcoal very effective , doesn't need a background. Excellent work!

I've seen what you can do with a background... so I say go for it. The portraits look great, though. I like the younger one especially. There's something of your style somehow that I sometimes suspect adds intensity of expression where there is none. Very natural and convincing, though. Not weird. I like it.
