Facing the mouth of Val Sarentina, just north of Bolzano, the 13th century Castle Roncolo recoils above the craggy and dangerous rocks surrounding its keep. The splendidly preserved Medieval castle is an evocative background for the legends of King Arthur and the knights of the round table. This is a magnificent fortress.

as always mastered. i like how the rocks climbing up to the fortress almost appear to have faces incorporated into them. The drift of the clouds behind the fortress adds to its overall strength.Katrina Papoutcharov 02 Dec 2005
Soooo interesting, I don't think I have ever seen a piece like this. I keep looking and looking at it. It is wild, so many dark places, and not many windows but the little tree with the sunlight hitting it...good job!Angela Francis 02 Dec 2005
