This is such a wonderful painting, capturing the shadows and light contrasts so beautifully that it is so very deserving of the Center for Creative Arts award. The perspective seems to make the viewer to be standing on the sidewalk looking through the gate to the old stone house. It has a magic about it that is enchanting and which makes you apart of the scene. It is a landscape masterpiece.
