One of the things I like about this image is how you did his "five O'clock" shadow. That can be difficult in pencil. It looks real. When I attempt such a thing, I always get it too smudgy.

Good graphic work. The features are rugged and realistic. Perhaps a real model, perhaps a composite. The Kansas detail adds a bit a humor. Your text serves as a story line with this as an illustration. Nice concept.
