Artist Reply: Thanks. Yes, the flames are actually purple and silver. The candy red was then painted over them. The skull was done on top of the candy red, along with the clouds and lightning. My attempt at a logo was not so great though. Someone suggested I make it like the Superman "S" but use "R" (for Ripper) instead. It came out looking a little too much like the "A" that Arlen Ness uses. If you don't know, Arlen Ness is a motorcycle customizer that has been around a long time, so his logo is well recognized. That one on the tank was the first and last time I ever used the idea. I don't want or need to copy anyone else's logos.
