A painting that I started in the village of Cabrieres d'Avignon, in France, then finished when I returned home. I suppose it portrays my love for the area and the vibrancy of the light...and a certain magical quality as Mont Ventoux looks down over the proceedings. This is acrylics and pencil crayons, followed by melted oil pastels, then sgraffito work. In other words, everything but the kitchen sink! A3 size on smooth Canford 2mm mounting board.

i am befuddled by this work... so it must be good. so many methods and materials that it boggles me as I attempt to decypher it. So I wont, I will just look at it and enjoy the view.Ben DeBiase 08 Nov 2005

Iain, Your painitngs are so enjoyable to look at because they are different and yet there is a definite style that belongs to you. In this one I love the way the colors of the sky are repeated in the painting. You have me moving my eyes all over the place and I never feel lost. So many paths to choose from again your journey is up and down and all around. The village of Cabrieres d'Aviginon must be truely magical.Nelly van Nieuwenhuijzen 12 Sep 2005
