I like the feel of the piece, but the perspective changes between rooms a bit dramatically. Also, your colors are beautiful, but a little dark--maybe too close in tone. If the main story revolves around the little girl, give her some more obvious contrast.

This is a great illustration, Susan. It seems to pop off the page! I like how the mom extends out of the border on the left side of the picture.
