12" X 24" Oil on Canvas I have always been into the Native American art and culture. From reading "Black Elk" a Sioux Holy Man, to making war shirts, fully beaded moccasins, chokers breastplates and fully functional peacepipes. This painting is of an actual tomahawk I made. I try to stay very taditional and authentic in style and items used in the making. Such as; I use no plastic beads or fake leather. This Tomahawk sold for $250. In the painting, I wanted the background to stay very loose and impressionistic while allowing the tomahawk itself to have great detail, pulling it out from the painting. This same style is reflective in the painting "Ashley's Dream" - Ballet Slippers, in my Ballet folder.

Hi Patrick. Leigh just sent me your link. Inspirational to say the very least! Your technique and style are "flawless." And yes, nothing like the mystic of Native American life and everything little thing about it. Keep 'em coming my friend.--DennyAngela Francis 05 Oct 2005
