Outstanding use of pastels! do you use the Soft/Chalk Pastels, Hard Pastels or the Water-Soluble Pastels? This is amazing work!! Fantastic detailing of the dancers from the tip of their pointy shoes to the top of their heads! Love the lacey gowns they are wearing.. perfectly drawn!! Exquite work Jennifer! :o)
Artist Reply: Hi Les, thanks for your comment, I have hard and soft pastels, The best ones I like and what all these pastels are done in, are Rowney proffesional soft pastels, and used pencil pastel for fine lines, Hard first on the background and floor.I also bought some loose ones in spain, not sure think these were rembrant, they soft too.but rowney my favourite.
I had the opportunity to view The Little Dancer at the Hirshhorn Museum in Washington D.C. This was amazing. Your painting is true to form. You've done a lovely job!
