The Blood Countess

This is an original painting of "The Blood Countess" Elizabeth (Erzsébet) Bathory (my interpretation ) 17th century Hungarian Countess Descended from one of the most ancient aristocratic families of Europe who bathed in the blood of young women to retain her gloriously creamy complexion. With over 600 victims, she was evil enough to be recognized as one of the original "vampires" who later inspired Bram Stoker to write the legend of Dracula -- but unlike Stoker's story, she was real.
