Throwback: a person, thing, or style that reminds you of an earlier time. It can also mean a return to an older way of doing things, or a biological trait from an old ancestor. I've been preoccupied with my 3D piece and though I'd done a drawing or two this evening, I knew they'd be too late finishing tonight. This piece, and several others, have been sitting near my scanner for some weeks. I picked this one up but noticed that, even though it dates from just a couple of weeks back, it seems a throwback when compared to my last few drawings. Am I evolving or devolving or just getting picky? This is a 6 by 4.5 inches gel pen with color pencil drawing on medium bond acid-free paper. If Original Jones Art had a dollar for every time he's written that last sentence, he might get out of the house more here in northwest Austin, Texas.

The other day I was doodling on my computer and, suddenly, amid the scrall and stains , I spotten a catchy design that looked quite potential to be used as the basis of an image. So I did. In a couple of months or so, racking through my files, I noticed a two-year-old drawing looking quite similar to the one I just found. In Russis we have a saying meaning "you can't jump over your head". Wishing you a cool day, Charles!

Artist Reply: And a very good saying it is,too. Though I've seen some acrobats almost pull it off, Nikolay. Hope all is going well with you. :)

I can't tell if it's throwback or forward and that may be a good thing, Charles . Anyhoo, the new hairstyle is cool : ) Hope the weather is kind to you today for your outdoor project

Artist Reply: The hair design reminds me of one I've seen in old movies pertaining to ancient Rome. Probably another reason why the title came to me, Dave. Remember my telling you I had a couple of hundred drawings plus sitting in a stack in my workroom? Well, they're still sitting there. The weather promises much unneeded heat for everyone but my 3D project. Ha. :)
